The Redline Zero is a classic World Cup quality specialty ski for racing in difficult wax conditions around zero degrees Celsius.
The main feature of this ski is a base insert in the grip zone of the ski, made of a mixture of rubber and polyethylene. When roughened with emery paper, this base insert creates a lot of small hairs, which is why zero skis are also often referred to as 'hairies'. Zero skis are the perfect solution for conditions around zero degrees as they offer better grip than hardwax and better glide than klister.
Not every race takes place around freezing point, but when the conditions are right nothing can compete with Zero skis in terms of performance. The Redline Zero ski performs best in high humidity and zero degrees Celsius on slippery slopes, but the range of use can be extended by using finer or coarser sandpaper to adapt the grip zone to the conditions fit.
Like all other Redline classics, the Redline Zero features a camber designed to optimize performance in specific ski conditions.
